AN INVITATION TO PRO-LIFE MARCH

The Knights of Columbus, Councils 3098 and 12869, invite you to put on your comfortable shoes and make a difference by standing up for life.  Join the Knights in a special prayerful March of Life, Sunday, September 27th.  Families and groups are welcomed.  The rosary procession will begin at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 200 S. Illinois, Weslaco.  Sr. Mary Sardinha will lead the rosary.  The 3-mile procession will end at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall in Mercedes (322 St. Vermont St. ), with refreshments and a talk by Dr. Lawrence Gelman, host of KURV radio.  Those who have difficulty walking can follow in their car or in a vehicle provided by the Knights.  There will be available transportation, to and from, for those who drop off their cars at either church.  For information, call Art Cano 854-4550.

FAMILY DAY 2009

Celebrate FAMILY DAY 2009 on September 28th by Praying, Eating, and Talking together as a family. The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University launched "Family Day- A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children" in 2001, as a national movement that encourages parents to frequently eat dinner with their children and  be involved in their children's lives as a way to better understand the challenges they face. For "Meal Time Prayers" and "Conversation Starter" ideas and Catholic resources, go to www.cdob.org .
